Economical span<=35m (100 ft) Imposed load<=15kPa.
Used for irregular grids or longer spans. Also incorporated with RC slabs considered (LL>4kN/m2)
Commonly used to transfer load from columns or walls.
PT beams are shallow compared to RC beams (½ the size)
Widely used in Residential, commercial buildings, hospitals, laboratories, car parking, Hotels and Educational Institutions.
